We are an independent, award-winning, family run business at the heart of the picturesque village of Parbold. Three generations of the Street-Birkett family have been loving and caring for the Wayfarer since 1997.
We pride ourselves on our exceptional food, hand crafted beers and the warm welcome only a true Lancashire pub can bring.
We believe in doing things well and have created an exciting menu that blends rustic charm with fine dining elements. Our head chef, Keith Taylor brings his VIP hospitality experience having worked for the Formula 1 team and travelled across the globe. His dishes stay true to country pub fayre while drawing inspiration from world flavours.
We are dedicated to utilising the very best seasonal produce local Lancashire farms and suppliers can bring. We also grow our own produce to enhance the taste of our well-loved dishes and we brew our own Problem Child beer in-house!
Problem Child Brewing is our on-site microbrewery where brewer Jonny Birkett hand crafts the most delicious ales. Dedicated ale enthusiasts travel far and wide to sample our beers and we showcase a huge range continental lagers, world beers, ciders and local artisan producers available in bottles or craft kegs.
Table service is available in our restaurant and booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. Parties over 12 will be offered our group party menu. If you wish to eat in the bar area, please find a table and order at the bar. Unfortunately, we cannot take reservations for the bar area.
